Matthew Lieberman: The Social Brain and Its Superpowers


Dr. Matthew Lieberman, one of the foremost authorities on the study of Social Neuroscience, was trained at Harvard University and is a professor in the Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry, and Biobehavioral Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research focuses on social cognitive neuroscience and uses neuroimaging (fMRI) to examine how we make sense of others, ourselves, and the relation between the two. His work also focuses on persuasion and the spread of ideas, empathy, emotion regulation, and self-knowledge. His first book – Social: Why Our Brains Are Wired to Connect – will be released in early October of 2013.
